Make needs actionable

The Portal Unification PoD framework describes six accessibility lenses and connects them to a proposed enhancement backlog. Its purpose is to make inclusion concrete in navigation, content, forms, personalisation, support, feedback and mobile/offline use.

These profiles are design lenses, not six interview participants or a validated population segmentation. The applied bilingual PoD information experience has its own case.

Connect the lens to a capability

Nineteen proposed enhancements are organised across seven feature groups. The mapping makes it possible to discuss who benefits, how a capability helps and how it could be evaluated.

Feature groupProduct/design question
NavigationCan people identify and reach the correct task?
ContentCan information be perceived and understood?
FormsCan people enter, check and correct information?
PersonalisationWhich preferences support the person without adding confusion?
SupportHow can someone ask for appropriate assistance?
FeedbackCan a barrier be reported and followed up?
Mobile / offlineWhat happens when device or connection conditions change?

Choose with evidence and feasibility

A prioritisation discussion needs the task impact, affected needs, feasibility and dependencies. A broadly useful improvement can still need specific assisted-technology and language tests before release.

The framework proposes measures and a roadmap. It does not establish that nineteen features were implemented or that a stated success target was achieved.

Evaluate a real task

A useful evaluation defines the task, participants, device, language, assistive technology and baseline. Completion and recovery evidence then connects the enhancement to the intended benefit.

Research validation, approved priorities and completed implementation remain additional evidence requirements. The portfolio shows the framework’s structure and its proposed backlog at their documented stage.

About the evidence
  • Accessibility framework and PoD Enhancement Plan: one artifact family, cross-checked with the Portal Unification PoD framework page.
  • Unrelated repeated interview/survey template text was excluded from the case.
